THE IMPORTANCE OF THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY IS INCREASINGLY RECOGNIZED BY CONSUMERS

14-01-2022

Today consumers are increasingly concerned about waste and resource depletion, and more demanding of businesses to engage in circular practices.

According to the latest Capgemini Research Institute report, Circular economy for a sustainable future: How organisations can empower consumers and transition to a circular economy, more than seven in ten consumers want to adopt circular practices, such as reducing overall consumption (54%), purchasing more durable products (72%), repairing products to increase product life (70%), and recycling (64%).

In contrast to the ‘take-make-waste’ linear model, a circular economy is regenerative and aims to gradually decouple growth from the consumption of finite resources. For businesses, adopting a circular approach means looking beyond the mere production cycle and embracing greater responsibilities to society and environment. This includes developing products and business models that eliminate waste by design, reducing the use of raw materials, and planning for return/recovery of products and packaging, among other actions.

In a context where raw materials are considered as precious resources, RDM Group is an integrated part of the wider virtuous circular economy, through its business model: indeed, all our products are recyclable and actually recycled.
