THE BBS (BEHAVIOR-BASED SAFETY) PROJECT HAS BEEN OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED AT VILLA SANTA LUCIA MILL

27-04-2022

Following the involvement of Santa Giustina as a pilot plant, as of December 2021, Villa Santa Lucia mill has embarked on its own behavioral safety journey.

Safety continues to be a top priority for RDM Group and, as proof of this, the BBS (Behavior-Based Safety) project, the program based on the promotion of safe behavior through a process of observation by the workers themselves, has started also in Villa Santa Lucia mill.

The process relies on observations of workers’ safety behaviors, carried out by the workers themselves, who have been properly trained. Then, these observations are analyzed and discussed together to increase the number of safe behaviors.

The aim of the project is to measure the safety level of behavior, to implement a virtuous protocol to minimize unsafe behavior and to reduce the risk of accidents at work.

After the presentation of the project to the employees, the project and training phases are in progress in Villa Santa Lucia mill. In the meantime, the BBS protocol implementation continues with positive outcomes also in Santa Giustina mill. Indeed, it was held a follow-up meeting in order to analyze the data, results and activities after one year of observations.

This project is one of the eight sustainability goals to which the Group committed at the beginning of 2021.
