RDM GROUP WON THE PREMIO INNOVAZIONE CIRCOLARE (CIRCULAR INNOVATION AWARD)

12-04-2024

RDM Group won the Premio Innovazione Circolare (circular innovation award) held on Friday April 12th, in Salerno (Italy) during PaperWeek.

It is an initiative launched by Comieco, in partnership with Assocarta, to highlight paper mills that are committed to the sustainable recovery processes of recycling waste.

Thanks to the “Tiger Depack® PPS”, the separation system in use at the Santa Giustina (Italy) plant to recover the fibrous material contained in pulper waste, today RDM Group was awarded the Premio per l’Innovazione Circolare in Cartiera (Circular Innovation Award in the Paper Industry). This is an outstanding recognition, which Comieco, together with Assocarta, has devised for companies that are truly able to bring innovative elements into a heavy industry, such as the paper one. Guido Vigorelli, Chief Procurement Officer at RDM Group, who also took part as a speaker at the meeting held during PaperWeek 2024, accepted the award.

Tiger Depack® PPS is designed to recover the fibrous material contained in pulper waste. This enables the RDM Group’s Santa Giustina-based mill to reduce the proportion of fibrous material in pulper waste from 20% to 5%.

Indeed, one of the cornerstones of the RDM Group’s sustainability strategy is to curb environmental impacts, reduce waste and make maximum use of raw material inputs: since 2018, the Group has been installing dedicated waste separation systems conceived to sort the organic and non-organic pulper waste portions.
