RDM GROUP AMONG THE SHORTLISTED ENTRIES OF THE EUROPEAN CARTON EXCELLENCE AWARD 2021

09-08-2021

The European Carton Excellence Award celebrates its 25th anniversary. As every year, the entries selected for public voting present the best from the European folding carton industry.

This year, RDM Group features as cartonboard manufacturer of two different entries. The first one is the “Bonduelle Bundle”, realized together with Van Genechten Packaging. This solution removes plastic overwrap from Bonduelle 3 cans pack and replaces that with recycled cartonboard material. The minimal pack design uses 30% less cartonboard than a classic wrap-around pack, 20% less ink and enables the consumer to see more of the product. The bundle pack can be adapted to different sizes and numbers of cans. Besides, this project we will help save around 170 tonnes of plastic every year.

The second entry is the “Dainese Gloves Hanger”, realized together with Lucaprint, which replaces the previous sturdy plastic hanging pack with this strong cartonboard alternative. To ensure that the pack design has the strength to hang heavy gloves in a retail environment, its structure consists of 4 layers of recyclable cartonboard. By using this natural material, the brand owner is demonstrating their sustainable ethos and the simple graphics printed on the pack highlight the brand identity.

You can vote online your favorite for the “Public Awards”.

The winners will be announced during the Carton Awards E-vent”, which will take place on September 6th 2021.

The European Carton Excellence Award is Europe’s most prestigious award for cartonboard packaging. Cartonboard is the perfect example of the circular economy, being renewable, recyclable and biodegradable. It is also one of the best in communicating brand values, whether that be for luxury brands or everyday goods.
