INTERVIEW WITH LAURA RIVA, WINNER OF THE ” CARTA TECNOLOGIA FUTURA” SCOLARSHIP SUPPORTED BY RDM GROUP AND ATICELCA

In 2021, RDM Group and Aticelca – the Italian Technical Association for Cellulose and Paper – presented the “Carta Tecnologia Futura” award to the best graduation thesis for the paper industry.

Laura Riva, former PhD student and current post-doc researcher at the OSCM laboratory (Organic Synthesis, Catalysis, and Materials Laboratory) at the Politecnico di Milano’s Department of Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering, has won the first edition of the “Carta Tecnologia Futura” scholarship. The announcement was held in Pescia (Italy), during the 53rd Annual Paper Industry Congress, during which Riva was able to present her work and accept the well-deserved €4,000 prize, sponsored by RDM Group and Aticelca.

 

Industria della Carta, a well-known trade magazine, interviewed Laura Riva about her thesis work titled “Nanocellulose: Production ad applications of an innovative eco-sustainable resource”,  which had the main objective of producing, from cellulose a new material of significant added value: nanocellulose.
