Unveiled during the 4evergreen Annual Conference in Brussels, the award celebrates breakthrough solutions that advance the circularity and recyclability of fibre-based packaging. This year’s winners included industry heavyweights such as MM Group, DS Smith and Graphic Packaging International, underscoring the prestige and strong reputation of the award within the global packaging community.
Vincicoat Ecolaminate is a recyclable barrier-board solution, developed using a combination of a minimum 90% recycled fibres and a biodegradable functional film. It demonstrates that high-performance packaging can meet demanding functional and food-contact requirements without compromising environmental goals, moving the industry forward in sustainable circular packaging solutions.
Accepting the award on behalf of RDM Group, Krzysztof Krajewski, Chief Innovation & Sustainability Officer, said: “This is a recognition we are very proud of. The Group strongly believes in the development of sustainable products, and Vincicoat Ecolaminate is an enabler for recycled cartonboards to be used in contact with sensitive food products. By widening the reach of our products, together we will increase recycling rates.”
The innovation is the result of an important collaboration with Ecopol, pairing RDM’s recycled fibre cartonboard with Ecopol’s biodegradable PVOH barrier film to create a new, fully recyclable laminate structure. The breakthrough technology provides the high-performance barrier needed for aroma-sensitive and food applications, while maintaining full recyclability within standard fibre-recycling streams.
RDM Group thanks 4evergreen alliance for the recognition, and reaffirming the shared belief that cross-industry collaboration is key to driving scalable, circular solutions for the packaging sector.
