Vincicoat PLUS

RDM Group has announced the launch of Vincicoat PLUS (V+), a new generation of coated recycled cartonboard designed to deliver increased strength while enabling meaningful packaging weight reduction.

Recycled cartonboard is typically perceived to be weaker than virgin alternatives. Vincicoat PLUS has been engineered to reduce this gap, delivering up to 15-20% higher strength than company standard WLC, while maintaining a minimum of 85% recycled fibre content.

With its superior square stiffness, the resistance to stress applied during bending in both machine and cross directions, V+ is the strongest GD board (WLC) RDM Group has ever offered, enabling better performance for creasing and folding during sheet conversion, leading to packaging structures that withstand higher compression resistance, resulting with high top- and side-load values of the final box structure.

For frozen and humid applications, it is also available as hard sized option with exceptionally low water absorbency performance, which is also readily available.

RDM GROUP LAUNCHES VINCICOAT PLUS: STRONGER PERFORMANCE WITH LESS PACKAGING

Multiboard® Barrier

We produce a PE-coated version of Multiboard®, our high quality, 100% recycled white-lined chipboard, known for its high stiffness parameters and excellent processability. This PE-coated version is called Multiboard® Barrier.

Typical uses of PE-coated boards are hygroscopic (moisture sensitive) products such as powders and dry products that have to remain dry. Other uses include frozen food, like frozen fish or cakes, and pet food boxes, among other applications.

As both a producer and recycler of PE-coated recycled cartonboard for packaging in the shape of Multiboard® Barrier, we understand the full picture of packaging issues. And our ability to recycle and manufacture in house, drives efficiencies and sustainability indicators.

PLASTIC IN PACKAGING: FINDING THE RIGHT BALANCE

Vincicoat Ecolaminate

New functional laminate technology combines recycled board with biodegradable barrier film to meet EU circularity goals.

We announced a new partnership with Ecopol, a global leader in biodegradable and water-soluble film technologies, to develop an innovative recyclable barrier board.

This collaboration combines RDM’s recycled fibre cartonboard with Ecopol’s functional PVOH film, offering brands a sustainable, high-performance packaging solution that can be customised to meet a variety of application needs, including aroma-sensitive and food products.

Using recycled cartonboard has historically been a challenge for food packaging specifically, because it becomes contaminated by food-grade mineral oil used in food processing machinery that finds its way into many foods. The new, PVOH film-based barrier board, can achieve Class A recyclability within standard fibre-recycling streams.

Syros Duo Brown

Made with 100% recycled fibers, natural-looking cartonboard, with the resilience needed for high-speed printing and folding.

No bleeding or cracking. And its quality is consistent and stable, making it ideal as a replacement for plastic packaging, for folders and envelopes, laminated food trays and plates, and for boxes.

This sustainable solution provides:

Perfect conditions for customized printing solutions in all standard print techniques, having said that, the cardboard can also be used in its natural color, i.e. brown-brown,

optimized for performance, in packaging conversion and gluing as well as for consumer use (tearing experience for perforated opening for e-commerce frustration-free packaging);
fully recyclable, a key feature for developing a full value chain circular model;

Syros Duo Brown – Rainy days

Serviliner and Flexoliner

New coating recipes with better pigments have been pioneered at RDM Group. They are boosting the company’s continuous improvement for brighter, whiter boards – and offering more appeal for consumers.

We have reached a brightness level of 86%, for a high reflection of light back to the eye and eye-popping colours. Our GD liner products – Serviliner and Flexoliner – will be produced to this specification. These can be used as liners of corrugated cardboard for packaging of cleaning products and detergents, displays and point-of-sales packs, and large boxes for items such as televisions and games.

Our products can be used as primary and secondary packaging for food, cosmetics and personal care products, pharmaceuticals and over-the-counter medicines.

Triplex Gris Water-Resistant (WR)

A water resistant GD2 board that can help packaging and brand to improve performance under freezing and cooling conditions.

Triplex Gris WR grade is the best choice for punnets, boxes, and sleeves, nonetheless it’s also great for non-food applications where moisture can cause damage to packaging, for example in case of boxes for hygroscopic products.
