As “Energy Scouts,” they identify potential savings in their companies, develop solutions, and gain valuable project experience while working as a team. In doing so, they actively contribute to climate protection, raise awareness among colleagues, and help reduce costs.
Beyond the financial benefits of optimizing energy and resource use, the qualification as an Energy Scout enhances the apprentices’ skills. They learn to observe their company critically, recognize inefficient resource use, and advocate for improvements. Additionally, the project promotes collaboration among trainees and colleagues on how to use energy and other resources more responsibly.
As RDM Group, we are very proud to have talented and motivated young people within our team who are eager to engage in sustainability projects to improve the future of our planet. We are proud of the team and their project.
The program starts with workshops providing foundational energy and resource efficiency knowledge. Apprentices are then encouraged to develop their own ideas within their company. This might involve conducting interviews with colleagues and collecting consumption data with checklists. After pinpointing areas for improvement, apprentices discuss their suggestions with their training managers or the company’s energy contact person. The goal is to implement tangible measures by the end of the project or to establish a timeline for their implementation with company leadership.
