INTERVIEW WITH MICHELE BIANCHI ON ‘IL CORRIERE DELLA SERA’

29-08-2022

In the leading Italian newspaper, Il Corriere della Sera, RDM Group CEO, Michele Bianchi, discusses the energy emergency that is gripping the industrial sector.

“From the gas we derive the thermal energy needed to dry the paper and simultaneously drive the thermoelectric turbines that generate electricity, which is also essential in our production process. Although the paper sector is an energy-intensive industrial sector, it manages to make the most of the energy resources that are necessary for its operation precisely because of the integrated thermal and electrical cycle” explained Bianchi during the interview.

In the last few years, RDM Group has done – and continues to do – everything possible to improve its energy efficiency. However, this is not enough to cope with the high energy prices; the risk is to stall an entire supply chain, which serves essential sectors such as food and pharmaceuticals.
