A BIOMASS COGENERATION PLANT FOR LA ROCHETTE MILL

04-03-2020

La Rochette Mill is among the winners of the 5th auction held by the French Government for the implementation of cogeneration plants to produce electricity generated from biomass.

The CRE5 – 3 project’s objective is to produce simultaneously the steam necessary to produce cartonboard and electricity: for this reason, in the next 3 years, the biomass power plant will be significantly renovated by installing a new 8-MW turbine-generator and auxiliary equipment.

Biomass in France accounts for over 55% of renewable energy production and contributes significantly to reducing fossil energy consumption: RDM Group is proud to be part of this energy transition project, which – as well as representing a significant development for the company and the local economy – is also fully aligned with its commitment to environment and sustainability.

Electricity production is expected to start before the end of 2021.
