OBIETTIVO ZERO, RDM GROUP’S MILLS HONOURED ONCE AGAIN THIS YEAR BY THE LAZZARESCHI FOUNDATION

27-05-2024

Today, our mills located in Villa Santa Lucia and Ovaro were honoured by the Lazzareschi Foundation as part of the ‘‘Progetto Sicurezza Obiettivo Zero’’ (Objective Zero Safety Project).

As the name of the event suggests, the awards are bestowed on deserving companies in the safety area, especially with regard to accident and severity rates.

In detail, the Villa Santa Lucia-based mill won the ‘Lowest Accident Severity rate’ award, while the Ovaro one ranked first for the ‘Lowest Accident Severity and Frequency rate’.

Within the same project, the RDM Group’s factories were shortlisted for the ‘Più per Zero’ (More for Zero) award under the special “Tutto Sotto Controllo” (Everything Under Control) safety initiative. This is an in-house project involving the use of an HSE platform for the smart management and monitoring of the legal requirements that external companies working in the factories (contractors, subcontractors, and self-employed workers) must meet. The company or worker must independently enter the relevant documentation required on the RDM Group portal in order to gain access to company areas, such as licences and certificates. This methodical control makes it possible to automatically confirm access and authorise working in the mill, ruling out the likelihood of errors or negligence.

The company portal is yet another RDM Group’s tool aimed at protecting and preventing risks to which workers are exposed, through the timely communication of information, so as to avoid risks due to interferences among operations.

The Lazzareschi Foundation, established in Porcari in 2003 to promote the cultural, social, and entrepreneurial growth of the area, is committed to the enhancement and promotion of paper mills, with a focus on the company’s safety issue.
