ENERGY CRISIS: CONCERNS ALSO FROM MASSIMO MARCER, SANTA GIUSTINA MILL MANAGER

01-09-2022

Santa Giustina Mill employs 250 people for a production of 250,000 tons of recycled cardboard, which mainly serves the food and pharmaceutical industries.

As many other companies in the area, it is currently struggling to cope with the exorbitant cost of energy, which has almost tripled in the past year.

For this reason, Massimo Marcer, Santa Giustina Mill Manager, agrees with the appeal for help from the entire paper industry to the Italian government. “It is necessary to set a cap on the price of gas for that industry, such as ours, which is defined as ‘essential’. If we stop, then there will be a lack of the cartonboard in which pasta, as an example, is packed” he stated during an interview with Il Gazzettino Belluno, an Italian local newspaper.
