Ovaro Mill is a key plan in the area, with almost a hundred years of history. Yet it is currently struggling to cope with the exorbitant cost of energy, which has almost tripled in the past year.
Precisely for this reason, RDM Group has three demands for the Italian government: firstly, to set a cap on the price of gas for that industry, such as ours, which is defined as “essential”; secondly, to ensure the volumes of gas supply to companies that are strategic for the population, necessary for the food and pharmaceutical industries; thirdly, to guarantee supply credits to the gas suppliers for the essential companies.
RDM Group has done – and continues to do – everything possible to improve its energy efficiency. However, this is not enough to cope with the high energy prices; the risk is that production will come to a standstill, along with all that this entails.
