THE PROCESS OF PAPER AND BOARD RECYCLING ENTERS STUDENTS’ AND CITIZENS’ HOMES

16-04-2021

Within Paper Week, Comieco has renewed Riciclo Aperto, the traditional “open day” of the paper industry, which returns in a new virtual format.

Paper and board are part of our daily lives, both protecting and trasporting many products that we use everyday. However, not everyone knows the different steps that allow these materials to become packaging and then be recycled and shaped again.

For this reason, Comieco has renewed Riciclo Aperto: the aim is to raise awareness among the younger generations and beyond about the importance of paper and board recycling and contributing to the education of aware citizens.

To overcome the difficulties related to the health emergency, the initiative took place digitally: it was structured as a virtual tour that takes students and citizens on an immersive and interactive journey into the world of paper, showing how it is possible – through recycling – to transform waste into new packaging.

An interesting fact: the footage regarding the journey of materials in the paper mill was filmed at Santa Giustina Mill.
