THE VALUE OF FIBRE-BASED PACKAGING DURING COVID-19 CRISIS

02-04-2020

Following the latest Governmental decrees, concerning the containment measures of the COVID-19 epidemiological emergency, RDM Group will continue to produce and guarantee the fulfilment of the orders received from customers, in accordance with the provisions issued by the different European countries.

It is understood that all RDM Group production departments, as well as commercial and administrative offices, will ensure business continuity and customer service, in the most scrupulous respect of governmental provisions and Health Institutions’ recommendations. Besides, RDM Group declares itself careful to introduce further and more specific containment measures if needed.

Despite the challenges raised by the COVID-19 pandemic, the paper and board industry is demonstrating, every day, its critical role in keeping the food and pharmaceutical supply chains moving. Today more than ever, the value of packaging has been recognized by many governments and retailers around the world: in particular, fibre-based packaging has played a vital role in fostering the hygienic and efficient movement of products across Europe. Packaged products are perceived to be safer, more hygienic and durable.

We have always known that our products are sustainable, recyclable, made from renewable fibre and well aligned with the Circular Economy model, but their value is today becoming even stronger as key element to keep citizens supplied with essential products, like food and medicines.

Finally, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to all workers and operators that provide essential services to citizens and the community in this period of emergency.

RDM Group constantly monitors the global emergency situation and is more than willing to provide more information about its prevention and containment measures to all its stakeholders.
